KNOWING YOUR EYE SHAPE, HERE ARE A FEW ..... & GETTING THE EYE-SHADOW CORRECT.

Almond Eyes Just about every shadow look works with this shape, go for the classic: sultry, smoky eyes.

Hooded Lids

This happens when the skin on your brow bones folds over onto your lids near the outer corners (it could be your natural shape; it also happens as we age). This creates natural shadows on your lids — which means you don't need much eye makeup, just subtle brightening to keep lids from looking heavy.

Round Eyes

For this wide-open shape keep it light. A sweep of just one soft color — whether it's a pretty pastel or neutral taupe — across lids is all you need to enhance round eyes.

Asian Eyes

Smudge the deepest hue along your top lash line, the medium color right on the crease, and the lightest
shade from the crease to just beneath your brows. Once the colors are in place, blend like crazy!

123-7 SKIN CARE REGIME TIPS ......

1. Every morning you should wear a powerful moisturizer rich in antioxidants and with a broad-spectrum SPF 15 - 30
2. In the evenings, at least twice a week use a gentle night peel. Try a cream with papaya enzymes to remove dead skin cells and boost collagen.
3. Clean your skin morning and night with a creamy cleanser and lukewarm water.
4. Avoid harsh chemicals and choose products that are free of parabens and artificial colors.
5. Eat a lot of antioxidants; grapes, green tea, red wine, and blueberries are few great sources.
6. Get your beauty sleep.
7. And fall in love….  :)

HOW TO WORK THE LIPSTICK......AND WORK IT GOOD!

PRIME YOUR SMILE --- Start by filling in lips with a flesh-colored pencil. Like a primer before paint, this step lays a foundation for the quick-to-fade shade to cling to, so it stays on longer.

PICK YOU HUE --- To avoid looking washed-out, opt for pink undertones (rather than beige or nude) that are at least two shades darker than your complexion. Peachy-gold flatters fair to medium faces.
GO FOR THE GLEAM ---Choose a high-shine lipstick. When you go light on color, a slight sheen will draw attention to lips, putting the spotlight on your smile.

PREVENT SMUDGES ---Next, trace the outline of lips with a nude-colored pencil;

FIND YOUR SHADE ---Cherry reds bring out rosiness in fair cheeks. Orangey reds warm up olive skin, and fuchsias work for dark complexions.

Sometimes - just a little does the job!

Sometimes... all it is ---- is a little eyeliner, mascara, blush and lipstick ...that's the makeup magic.... :)

And the 4,5,6 Mistakes to take note of on your special day....

4.Don’t overdo it with facial procedures. The biggest mistake of majority of brides is rushing out for getting the extreme facial procedures like peelings, tans, teeth whitening etc and unfortunately the consequences from them could be harsh. Continue with your regular skincare procedures, but also try to keep the healthy diet, exercise and get enough sleep.

5.Don’t touch your face. Once the wedding makeup is on, avoid touching it during the wedding day. All you will need are the blotting papers and powder for preventing the shining face and a lipstick, which you will reapply after the numerous kisses.

6. Limit yourself to only putting a little highlighter on your cheekbones and under the eyebrows area, but avoid it on the whole face.

Mistakes 1,2,3 to take note of....

1.Excessive amount of make up looks "loud" on bride’s face. Sure, wedding is a big thing but it doesn’t necessarily require the tons of cosmetics on your face. Follow the principle “less is more”.

2. Don’t necessarily stick to latest trends. The trends change constantly and something that is considered to be the hottest trend today will be out of fashion tomorrow. The same thing happens with makeup trends. All you want is looking at your wedding photos in 5 years and have the makeup done in the classical and neutral style, which is timeless.

3.Opting for makeup that is not you.... If you are not used to wearing a lot of cover on your face, then you should probably avoid it at your wedding day too. Your number one task is looking just like you, but a bit fresher.

Common Wedding Makeup Mistakes ....

There is no doubt that wedding day is the moment when brides get to look like the princess not only in terms of wearing the stunning white dress, luxurious jewelry and high-heels, but also in terms of having the fancy hairstyle and professional makeup. But unfortunately, some wives-to-be think that wedding is the day for wearing a lot of makeup, which is a total mistake. Here a few things to keep in mind....

WHAT MAKES A BRIDE A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE??

***CLAUDINE - June 8, 2013. -- A Gourmet Girl***

What makes a beautiful bride?

The check list --

*Skin Care - proper skin care routine/regime

*Hair Care - think about the overall health of your hair, get it into "wedding day mode"..work closely with a stylist.

*Makeup - some brides may opt to do makeup themselves on the day, know the correct steps and techniques if you want to attempt it - if not hire a Pro***

*Stress- this is inevitable when planning a wedding - practice good nutrition and an exercise routine will limit the last minute "break outs" on your skin and the overall overwhelming feeling of the wedding day preparations.

*Attitude - a positive, vibrant, bubbly one will just be the perfect additive to your special day!

Blessings!

RED ALERT!

There's nothing as alluring as a perfectly painted pout, and for 2013, lips are the biggest thing in beauty!!

Lipstick continues to have a resurgence in popularity because it allows women of all ages to feel put together... in a matter of seconds. Just a quick swipe of lipstick and a woman can go from drab to fab, brightening up her face and bringing attention to her smile! It’s an easy and affordable way for every woman to update her makeup style for the season and, just like nail polish, there are so many colors — one can never get bored.

In terms of finish, matte is in!! To wear the look, ensure your lips are smooth, healthy and not chapped.Wearing a lip moisturizer before bed and exfoliating with a lip scrub makes a big difference.

Joni and Alexis are the BEST!!! Joni made me feel very comfortable and special from day one. As soon as I met her I knew she was MY choice for makeup artist. She is very personable and was willing to go the extra mile to make my dreams a reality. She is very genuine and truly had my best interests at heart, even if that meant less money for her...which by the way was the case (I wanted airbrush which was more costly but she would have none of that...after her professional assessment she concluded that regular makeup would do just fine). And she was so RIGHT. She worked wonders on my special day. I had that awesome bridal glow and perfection about half way through and the final job was simply AMAZING. She did an awesome job on my girls and went above and beyond to assist me with getting dressed. I will never require the services of any other Makeup Artist, EVER. My choice will always be JONI!!!! (5.5 score!!!)

Warmest,
Joni

3 TIPS FOR TIMELESS MAKEUP!! Almost all brides want to stand out in the crowd, but a bridal shoot isn't really the time to try the latest beauty trends. Here a 3 tips on everything you need to know to achieve a timeless style, so you'll still look picture-perfect for generations to come:
  1. Get down-to-earth: You can never go wrong with the classics. Opt for a neutral look (think: earth tones) that you won't abhor 20 years later.
  2. Something (not) blue: Bold blue shadow and intense coral blush might sound like a good idea at the time -- but not timeless --- When applying makeup with wedding photos in mind, stay away from bright eye shadows and blushes, which don't photograph well.
  3. Getting lippy: If color is what you desire, try it on your lips instead. Hot pink, bright red, or vibrant orange will look beautiful; just be sure to keep the rest of the face soft and subtle to look classier in your photos. As years pass, this look will remain timeless.
